What happens to future Shibuya?

Shibuya prospered as the culture place of dispatch which had movie theater and gallery much again as terminal station since present JR and Tokyu station started a business for the Meiji period. In addition, position as young people's fashion and the information place of dispatch of culture is established, too.

On the other hand, improvement of safety and convenience is necessary for station facilities where transference and extension and/or alteration have been repeated from the Taisho era and building facilities which started a business before and after the Tokyo Olympics of 1964.
Therefore we make use of the cause of citizen cooperation, strength and characteristic of town to the maximum now and push forward redevelopment for doing Shibuya with "town which we want to visit Japan's most"!

Wall fountain draining water into turnout open space and river is maintained in the Shibuya River, and, by public-private cooperation, promenade is born along the river, too. In this way, it became oasis of new Shibuya.

We maintain facilities where entrepreneur and creators can gather as place sending Japanese high creativity to the world, world creativity and connection, place exchanging opinions at the station square. Many people stimulate each other and make clearance which is born if new manufacturing is natural.

The issue of global warming becomes international problem, and, in the Tokyo downtown area, the issue of heat island is actualized, and advanced approach on environment side is necessary. By around Shibuya Station development, we will plan the formation of low sustained urban space of environment load by approach for improvement of synthesis energy efficiency by information sharing of the use of energy cooperation and energy situation between block and CO2 emission reduction in building, tree planting promotion including natural draft in Hikarie in future. As photovoltaic power generation or introduction of district heating and cooling facilities utilize the highest technique of the times in each block, low carbon works on making energy saving of building positively.

In addition, for continuous environmental load reduction between around Shibuya Station development, we introduce cooperating area energy management systems (AEMS) such as communalization of driving management information. Furthermore, we plant trees in about 18,000 square meters in the whole around Shibuya Station development and find quantity of large amount of green to contribute to relaxation of heat island effect in the bottom of the gorge of Shibuya.
