Shibuya Area Management Association (the following, Shibuya Eli imitation) publishes "sustained town planning" and promotes town planning activity in Shibuya Station center five block.
We aimed at realizing making environment where artist could challenge as the part, doing public space from all over the redevelopment wealthily, "town which we pleased people's minds, and people wanted to walk" and started artist open call for participants plan "TYPELESS" from 2023.
We made Kataoka of Embedded Blue in charge of plan, production artist Motoki Shiozawa, moderator who produced work for the second of "TYPELESS" this time and, with tree flat Katsura of the Shibuya area management, heard story about town and art of thought and Shibuya to this project about background and result of project and the future prospects.
Embedded Blue Kataoka (following, Kataoka): "TYPELESS project to become the second had you be interested in many artists from offer start, but please tell opportunity when Shiozawa applied." for
Artist Motoki Shiozawa (following, Shiozawa): "We saw information of open call for participants by chance in Instagram and were going to apply. In fact, we have not applied for contest until now. But we think that we can display work at the station square of Shibuya that it is great." and

Kataoka: "By the way, might it be uneasy when we applied?"
Shiozawa: "We are honest, and is oneself chosen as “ truth first? We thought to be ". When level of applicant may be high when we think about size of place called Shibuya. But we applied with feeling, "at first, to challenge" even if we took too seriously as there was no help for it
Kataoka: "Diversity" "was featured the theme of with this work, but what kind of thought would be put specifically??"
Shiozawa: It "is said that "diversity" is important in the whole society recently. But have a feeling that that has been simple "thing accepting" throughout. We thought that there might be me in process when new thing was born while rather discussing opinion with diversity. Therefore we assumed theme of work "emmer Gen's" (emergence)
Tree is flat: "Shibuya surely establishes the regulations that the government promotes diversity, too and is town than other areas with many opportunities being aware of diversity. While various sense of values and culture mix, town itself called Shibuya produces new movement, too."

Katsura: As "Eli imitation, it was a chance to think about depth of the word "diversity" again. It well reached that work of Shiozawa merely had deep meaning as well as "you are cool", "we are beautiful"
Shiozawa: "Work is not only simple visual and thinks that it should be a chance to consider what it is."
Kataoka: "Even as to visual of work matches with scenery of Shibuya. It gets a lot of looks while adapting itself to in town."
Shiozawa: "We were conscious of there. We kept design which did not float too much in mind while preventing it from being buried among that as Shibuya had colorful signboard and advertisement."
Kataoka: "What kind of impression does Shiozawa have for Shibuya?"
Shiozawa: "We often came to play for school days. We used even transfer of university and eat rice with friend and do shopping and. But we had some distance after having become member of society. What we would be concerned with through art by this project was fresh."
Tree is flat: "Shibuya is town which continues changing with the times. Office areas increase, too, and people dressed in suit increased, too, but, after all, role as the place of dispatch of young people and culture does not change recently. We think that such a balance is attractive."
Katsura: "In addition, it thinks that it is attractive of street of Shibuya that reaction comes back by all means when it sent something. In this approach, many artists applied including Shiozawa. As a result, work of Shiozawa is thing born in the town of Shibuya, and "is right emmer Gen."
Kataoka: "Art cannot become means to solve some kind of problems. Work itself has value, and, for artist producing, this is because itself is purpose. Therefore we think that the use, way of thinking to conjugate are wrong. However, it is fact that has power to bring new meaning in place itself again that art moves people's minds and turns behavior. Therefore we pray for developing this plan with people concerned, understanding and Respect in this plan to let art appear in town in future, and we want to lead there."
Kataoka: "Work was displayed, and what kind of reaction was there actually?"
Shiozawa: "Friend and acquaintance went to see and shared in SNS. People who found the name in street or me contacted accidentally and were very glad."
Tree is flat: As "there is art, atmosphere of town changes. People taking photograph at place that was only wall in building increase simply and come to be recognized as spot of wait." and
Katsura: "We expected deterrent effect of graffiti and sticker, but realized, "art caused a person's action" further."

Kataoka: About "future activity, what kind of prospects do you have?"
Shiozawa: "We want to continue exhibition in future. We want to challenge three-dimensional work. Particularly, it is dream to make big art work."
Tree is flat: "We hold this project regularly and by increasing opportunities to develop art in Shibuya, lead to challenge toward the artist and have you excite toward the person of next town and want to have you come to like Shibuya."
Katsura: "Move Shibuya in sense of fun." by "Shibuya Eli imitation and raise as o concept. We want to raise value of town with sense of fun while making collaboration with artist in future."

Kataoka: "We realized that open call for participants plan had big possibility in the area management, the town planning. When a lot of stakeholders perform town planning continuously at place where many people come and go, it is not easy to have it be to "relation" and person concerned. Therefore we feel that it will be necessary in future that Eli imitation provides place and to plan maximization of mutual performances and effects by having you do problem setting and ride there."
Shiozawa: "We had really valuable opportunity. We feel that it led to own growth to have been able to announce work at place like Shibuya."
Tree is flat: "It was usual and was able to realize such a plan at place where there was not readily art notice. Including Shiozawa, Kataoka, we want to tell appreciation to all people concerned with this plan some other time. We will do our best from now on to realize such an approach as Eli imitation continuously."
Katsura: "We want to bring about opportunity when by continuing creating opportunity when artists can challenge in the public clearance from now on, society is connected to art."

We are from Tokyo for 1,992 years. We start work production in 2023 by self-education.
We come under an influence of American comics in Japanese painting, movie, the 80-90 generation and produce work which let you quote those concepts and technique and fuse.

Embedded Blue representative director Sho Kataoka
It was born in 1992 and is from Tokyo. We consult for finance in Nomura Securities - Nomura Holdings, Inc. – Application development PdM – After new business development, we found Embedded Blue. We deal with business development, produce, project design while stepping over the spot of the art business creative. We are in charge of plan administration, artist production support in "TYPELESS vol.2".
